Cardan axles in L3314
Hi,
Got some problems with MOT testing (besiktning?) yesterday… Rear brakes are unbalanced, transfer gearbox is leaking and front cardan axle front x-joint is history (who understand what I mean?).
So what's the problem - normaly nothing but my case is that somebody has chanced both rear and front cardan axles - I don't really know if they are selfmade, attleast they are 2 x thicker than original and welding is done not so perfect. And welded YES, even the joint is welded!
I think I have 3 different solutions:
1 Use current cardan and try to change the joint.
2 I happen to have both ends of original front axles (pipe between is cut & missing) - but I don't know what is exact lenght of tubular part (the longer part). If I can have that dimension then I can perhaps make that missing part.
3 Try to find second hand original axles or tubular part (best solution?)
So if somebody has front cardan tubular part available, plase sell it or measure the lenght of it (from center line of needle bearing hole to the other end.

Perhaps I didn't made me clear enough - anyway see enclosed picture. I think it tells what is the point here.
Lower cardan axle is "selfmade" one and higher is both ends of original axle. I just need to know lenght of the tubular shaft or if somebody can tell what is maximum and minimum lenght of the whole front cardan. Sure I can make new axle as long as selfmade one but who knows is that correct lenght?

BTW Dexxas just for curiosity, why your axle is extended? Only reason I can think is SOA…? Or is original just too weak - I don't know why my axles are replaced.
